The road weather map shows measured and forecast values for road weather stations.

These small automatic stations are operated by municipalities, federal states and the Autobahn GmbH on roads and made available to the Deutsche Wetterdienst.
The DWD checks the data for plausibility and calculates a forecast for each station.

The air temperature, the dew point and the temperature of the road surface are displayed from each station.
The possible road conditions are also shown in the forecasts. A legend (arrow at the top of the map) explains the meaning of the road condition colors and is opened by tapping.

By swiping across the timeline at the bottom (right or left), a corresponding point in time can be selected or manually pushed into the past or future. A double tap on the timeline starts an animation, a single tap stops the animation.
The blue marking and the heading display the viewed point in time. Light blue means past times, dark blue are predictions. The blue point on the timeline marks the transition from measurement to forecast. Tap directly on the blue marking, jump back or forward to the current point in time.
