This function gives an overview of the current thunderstorm situation.
The information displayed is automatically generated every 5 minutes from different radar and model forecast data as well as lightning and thunderstorm cell information in a special process and can be switched on and off using the blue buttons.
With the thunderstorm areas, focal points and traces (thundercloud symbol) you get an overview of the past and current situation.
You can switch on a calculated thunderstorm forecast for the next hour using the second symbol (triangle). Tapping the colored
fields gives you additional information about the warnings, for which the same threshold values apply as for the manually
created warnings.
They do not replace the official warnings issued by the meteorologist but are intended to provide additional information on the
expected trajectories of thunderstorms and heavy precipitation areas in advance.
Use the flash symbol to switch on lightening recording for the last 5 minutes.
In addition, you can switch the current precipitation radar image on and off using the last symbol (rain).
You can find more information on the data used and the interpretation of the thunderstorm monitor on our FAQ-page (german only).
The legend (arrow at the top of the map) explains the meaning of the colors and is opened by tapping on it.
