The UV index map predicts the health risk from UV radiation for the day it is issued and for two other days. The legend (arrow at the top of the map) explains the meaning of the colors and is opened by tapping.
Protective measures (shade, sun cream, T-shirt, headgear) are required from the "moderate" level. After a short time, fair-skinned people and children are particularly at risk from the intensity of the sun's UV radiation.
In the case of particularly high values or values that are unfamiliar to the season, the DWD issues UV warnings in the "Warning map" area or as push notifications.
